List Servers

• Primarily based upon an email client
• Broadcast to the entire list (i.e., not selective)
• Recipient has delivery options
  • Immediate delivery
  • Digest option (emails combined into a package)
    • Delivered once a day or when package reaches some size
  • No email delivery
    • Recipient may use the archive
• Lower probablity of contact than direct email
• Automatic archival
• Browser based archival search through all documents
• Users often follow subject rules
  • Allows following threads (Re: original subject)
  • Content tags like [ANN], [BUG], [OT]
